RME-62 · the undersea sort demo
On the /magic offer page, the “Your platform says” demo drops three subscribed addresses into a teal sea, then Reveal gives each one a verdict. You liked the roomier spacing and the overall look. The one thing that read as weird: the top card sat right on the wavy surface line, so on Reveal it looked like it was breaking out of the water.
“maybe the emails can be a bit lower and floating in place… the top of the sea, something is weird.”
So here are three ways to keep the cards floating clearly inside the sea, each a different feel. Same colours, same wave, same Reveal — only the float changes. Hit Reveal on each and pick the one that feels right. Highlight any line to leave a note.
This is today’s behaviour, shown for comparison. Watch the top card on Reveal — it lifts up and its edge crosses the light band at the top of the sea. That’s the “weird” bit.
The whole stack sits lower, with roomy open water above it. All three drift together, slow and calm, like they’re suspended. On Reveal they separate by depth: Keep floats highest (still safely under the surface), Monitor settles mid-water, Suppress sinks toward the seabed and dims. The sort reads as things finding their level.
Cards sit lower and each one rides its own current — a different bob, phase and a whisper of tilt — so they feel alive and buoyant, like envelopes adrift. The light rays shimmer. On Reveal each card’s movement becomes its verdict: Keep bobs bright and buoyant, Monitor does a wary side-to-side sway, Suppress slows, tilts and sinks heavy. The most alive of the three.
A soft spotlight falls from the surface, and the cards live in a fenced reading-zone in the lower-middle — structurally kept away from the wave. The float is a whisper: they hover in place. On Reveal nothing jumps position; the beam brightens and the border and chip change colour where each card floats. The calmest and clearest, and the kindest to reduced-motion.
