CONFIRMED by YT, 2026-09-23. Folded into the brand system as a banner rule (the "LinkedIn banners" bullet in
01-library/voice/rme-brand-system.md). Kept here for the measured backing.
The proposed rule. On any LinkedIn banner, no text, accent bar, icon, or other content that has to be read may sit in the left zone that LinkedIn draws its own furniture over. Concretely, using the two measured learnings:
covers x = 34–213 and grows its share on narrower windows. See → the-page-logo-eats-the-bottom-left-of-a-linkedin-company-banner.
x = 44–371), or right-align it to dodge the photo entirely. See → the-profile-photo-eats-the-left-third-of-a-linkedin-banner.
The name is shorthand: whatever the leftmost element is, a serif line, a vertical accent rule, a list card, it does not belong on the left edge.
The logo that sits on your banner. On the Review My Emails company page, LinkedIn draws this logo over the bottom-left corner of the cover image, so anything under it is hidden:
DO and DON'T. Same banner, same headline. On the left edge the logo covers the start of the line; started clear of it, the whole line reads:
!DO and DON'T, no readable content on the left edge of a LinkedIn banner
Measured proof. This draws the real logo tile on the real banner at the exact size and position LinkedIn uses, so the safe start is measured, not guessed:
!Measured safe-zone proof, the page logo tile on the company banner
Why it is worth having. This has now been caught live twice (the profile headline losing its first word behind the photo, 2026-09-21; the company banners measured against the logo, 2026-09-22) and re-surfaced as YT's 22 Sep review note on the Q4 holiday set, where the content started at x = 300, 20px inside the safe start. A written rule turns "measure it each time" into "design to 320 / 400 from the start", so nobody ships a fourth instance of the same mistake.
What a "yes" would change. Add this as a brand rule in the voice/brand system (a line under the banner guidance in 01-library/voice/rme-brand-system.md, or a short entry BIBLE.md points to), with the two learnings as its measured backing. Until then it stays a proposal. The RME-32 Q4 banners were already moved to x = 320 (company) / x = 450 (profile) under YT's direct instruction on that ticket, but the general rule is not law until YT confirms it here.
